Spotlight on a Bray Wealth Management team member: Zoe Carpenter

As a client of Bray Wealth Management, you will meet with your financial planner to discuss your goals and how to reach them. However, financial planners are only one part of the story, and there is a whole team of people working behind the scenes to deliver the excellent service you’re accustomed to.

Our Spotlight on a Bray Wealth Management team member series highlights different members of the business, so you can learn more about what they do.

In the past, we introduced you to:

This month, we want to shine the spotlight on Zoe Carpenter, one of our technical administrators.

1. What is your role at Bray Wealth Management?

I am a technical administrator, which involves greeting clients, arranging meetings, and answering calls and emails. I also support our planners by gathering data for cases, preparing and submitting new applications, and liaising with new and existing clients to build long-lasting relationships.

Alongside my day-to-day duties, I’m the sports and social organiser for the team and take charge of seasonal decorations in the office and front window.

2. What first attracted you to your career and what steps did you take to reach your current position?

I started my career in finance at Lloyds Bank. I was there for five years, first as a customer service assistant, but I quickly worked my way through the branch roles to become a bank manager.

Although Lloyds provided extensive training and development, especially in customer service, I wanted to work for a smaller business where I could really see the difference I made in people’s lives through their finances.

Bray found my CV online and offered me an interview, and the rest is history.

Family means a lot to me, so Bray being an intimate family-run company really appealed to me. Moving from a corporate to a more personal business was the best decision I made.

3. What qualifications and professional training do you have that help you support clients?

As a technical administrator, I don’t have any professional financial qualifications. However, I have extensive in-house experience I’ve gained since being at Bray and working closely with our clients. This builds on the skills I gained in my previous roles in finance.

I pride myself on delivering client satisfaction and offering excellent customer service, as well as boosting workplace morale, encouraging team building, and promoting colleague welfare.

4. What is the most rewarding part of your role at Bray Wealth?

Working with my wonderful colleagues and clients. We are a close team that supports one another like no other company I have worked for. The relationships we have with our clients are so personal, it doesn’t even feel like work sometimes; it’s like helping close friends or family.

5. What are your biggest professional goals for the next year?

Managing my return to work and getting up to date after maternity and sick leave. Once I’m settled and have found my rhythm, I would like to look into obtaining some financial qualifications.

I’m also focusing on adapting to being a working mum. I had two years off work – one year for maternity and one year having cancer treatment, made up of radiotherapy, surgery, and chemotherapy.

I have been through a lot, as has my family, so we’re trying to get back to some form of normality. Work is my focus as two years was obviously a significant time away from the business. However, it hasn’t taken long for me to feel like I was never gone.

6. What are you most excited about outside of work over the next year?

My partner, Joss, proposed in December 2025, so we are looking forward to planning our wedding for 2027.

Hopefully, I will be celebrating one year cancer-free come May 2026 following my three-monthly routine scans.

We will also celebrate my daughter Bonnie’s third birthday in July.

Overall, I want to appreciate the little things in life and enjoy every moment because you never know what is around the corner.

Don’t wait, live for the moment.
