Hi, my name is Paul, and this is Debbie. We’ve been working with Bray Wealth for about six years now, and John Findlay is our adviser.

Debbie

I was a teacher, then a head teacher, and it came to the time when I started thinking about retirement, and I talked to a specific adviser who dealt just with teacher pensions. My mum and dad had been clients of Bray, and there were some trust funds that we had that needed explaining to us. So, we got in touch, we met with John Findlay, and then we swapped allegiance, and we decided to go with Bray for all of our financial advice.

When John initially came and Ken accompanied him to see us, they were very clear and very encouraging about prospects, saying to us, “Look, this is what the possibilities are.” One specific challenge that I had was pulling some of my pensions together because I had a disparate pot of pensions, and one of them at that time disappeared in a transfer between two companies. John and the team at Bray Wealth helped me locate and get the money back and get some small compensation from the teams and companies involved.

One of the things that John brings us is a non-emotional approach to money because if you’ve got a little pot of money that you inherited from your mum, or that you earn from that particular job, I have particularly been quite precious about that, thinking that’s my mum’s money. But actually, John, just says, “Those are your savings, and the most cost-effective savings to cash in and use would be this,” and he’s right.

The three words I’d use to describe Bray Wealth are professional, trustworthy, and reliable.

Debbie

I think the best thing about working with Bray is that retirement has been a delight. It’s been a real joy. I did a great job that I loved, and now I’ve got a great retirement. I don’t have to worry about “Can I pay the bills? Can I go on holiday?” I can do the things I want to do and know that, financially, we are secure.

Paul

The best piece of advice I’ve received in the time I’ve worked with Bray Wealth was one of the first pieces of advice that I was given, which was that we were well-off enough that I could retire at that point in time.

Debbie

I would absolutely recommend Bray Wealth because I think they have a personal connection with their clients. That’s how I feel, you join their family. The people in the office, the people who write the emails and send you the paperwork, they’re all so approachable, they’re all so supportive, and if you need somebody, if we needed somebody now, we could phone their office, and somebody would be there to help us.
