Bray Wealth team update: Passing exams, supporting clients, and an exciting new arrival

At Bray Wealth, we’re always looking for ways to improve our knowledge, so we can better serve our clients. To that end, the whole team has been busy pursing new qualifications, taking part in important seminars, and helping clients achieve their retirement goals.

There have been some exciting new developments outside of the workplace too, and we’re all looking to the future and thinking about our next steps.

Read on to learn all about the latest Bray Wealth news in our team update.

John Findlay – Attending important seminars and helping valued clients achieve their retirement dreams

John Findlay has had a busy few months, spending time expanding his understanding of key issues that could affect many of his clients.

He recently attended a seminar hosted by the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and led by Fiona Heald, a solicitor specialising in Court of Protection matters. SOLLA is an excellent organisation that provides support and information for advisers on areas of financial planning that affect older clients.

The seminar John attended gave valuable information about the specific roles of attorneys and deputies, and how they act on behalf of a client who is considered not mentally capable.

As a result, John is well placed to support older clients with their estate plan and ensure the right protections are in place should they fall ill or sustain an injury.

Additionally, John was delighted to announce that he helped two clients decide when they would stop working and transition to retirement.

The first client had decided several years ago that, with John’s support, they were ready to retire whenever they liked. After continuing work until they reached State Pension Age, they recently made the transition to retirement.

The second client, a couple, initially planned to continue working. However, despite the fact they’re both under 60, John helped them create a plan for drawing a retirement income and, by accessing some defined benefit pensions, they were able to stop working earlier than planned.

Helping clients in this way is incredibly rewarding for all of us at Bray Wealth and demonstrates the value of good financial advice.

Dan Grant-Adamson – Passing exams and providing crucial support to the Bray Wealth team

Dan Grant-Adamson reached a key milestone in his professional journey recently after passing the R06 Financial Planning Practice exam. This qualification tests the application of technical knowledge and financial planning skills.

It was a huge relief for Dan to pass as he has put so much work into preparing for the exam in recent months. Completing this unit also means that Dan attained his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Taking this important step has given Dan the confidence to continue supporting advisers and helping them deliver the best possible service to our clients. In the future, he hopes to build on his existing expertise and continue expanding his knowledge.

Geoff Corden – Attaining the Advanced Financial Planning qualification and welcoming an exciting new arrival

It’s been a busy and exciting few months for Geoff Corden. He recently passed the CISI Level 6 Certificate in Advanced Financial Planning. This crucial qualification reinforces Geoff’s existing understanding and ability to create bespoke financial plans for clients in an increasingly complex landscape.

Ultimately, this gives his clients more confidence that he can provide the necessary support to help them achieve all their goals. By improving the level of service he can offer, Geoff will continue to strengthen the long-term relationships he has with his valued clients.

This is an important step on Geoff’s journey to become a Certified Financial Planner – the gold standard in the industry – and position himself as a highly regarded source of support in Surrey.

Outside of work, Geoff can often be found on the golf course. Alongside his professional goals, hopes to become a scratch golfer in the future too. But most importantly, he is excited to announce that he has recently become a father.

We’d all like to wish him a huge congratulations and welcome the newest member of the Bray Wealth team!

Stay tuned for more exciting developments from the Bray Wealth team in the future.
